Cycle Path to King George's Playing Field, Oxford

Greenford Limited recently carried out works on Cycle Path to King George’s Playing Field, Oxford

The new pathway formalises a shortcut across the field to create a greatly improved route and ensure safe active travel between Botley and the City Centre. The newly constructed three-metre-wide pathway ensures enough space for cyclists and pedestrians. Greenford Limited were also pleased to install new bat-friendly solar reflectors that effectively provide lighting along the path whilst reducing environmental impact.

"This new and improved route for cyclists and pedestrians at King George’s Playing Field will help to provide a convenient off-road route to travel into the city. What used to be a narrow, muddy track is being transformed into a smooth, wide path.

Routes that are away from roads and traffic encourage more people to walk or to get out their bikes. I am looking forward to the work being completed later this month and will be using it with many other people in the future.”

- Councillor Louise Upton, Cabinet Member for Health and Transport
